Checkout these Balboa Park Engagement photos from a recent session I had there. I’m pretty sure this sweet couple, Josh + Lydia are floating on a cloud when they’re together. Beautiful, effortless, and absolutely smitten with one another. Bonus, they love to dance! No doubt they will dance through life together with a smile on their face.

I look forward to photographing their wedding this summer. In the meantime, here are a handful of engagement photos from their photoshoot at the iconic Balboa Park, in San Diego. Balboa Park is the perfect place for an engagement session as there are beautiful gardens, interesting architecture and world-class museums that can all be used as a backdrop to your engagement photos. Josh + Lydia did an outfit change to mix of the look of their photos, which is always a good call for an engagement session. The green dress was a hit!

If you’re interested in seeing more of my engagement sessions and style, take a look here. And, importantly, if you happen to be a summer 2024 bride, I would love to talk to you! There is still time to get on my calendar.

Baby Sierra makes FIVE! What a blessing to reconnect with my friends, the Alexanders, and to photograph such a special time in their family as they welcome Sierra. This is your reminder to book the at-home newborn session, mommas. Don’t wait for the right time. You will likely not “feel” like it post-birth. These early moments with your baby are fleeting. They need to be bottled up so that you remember – forever. We will work together to make sure it’s easy breezy for you. In this case, the mother was still early in her recovery and was sore, so we moved to two spots – the couch and the bed. All within a few steps from one another. Plus, there was plenty of time to pause and nurse. I meannn… look at these images. It’s always worth it! Reach out anytime to book your at-home newborn session and we can talk through what it will look like for you, uniquely.

I am guilty of falling in love with my client friends just a little each time they are in front of my lens. This adorable family was no exception. How can I not, right? We strolled throughout their favorite place, Balboa Park, and were stopped by complete strangers who admired this joyful little boy and his adoring parents. It warmed my heart. Bonus, I got to hold him for at least 5 whole minutes. Yes, I counted. Hakimian family, you are beautiful. xx, K

Can we just pause for a minute to admire the cuuuuuteness of this family. Sigh.. awww. This gorgeous couple met on a blind date five years ago, and now have the most precious two year old daughter. Hands down, two is one of my favorite ages to capture in childhood as they love to giggle and play (which means the parents do too, wink!). The Peggs enjoy the outdoors, so this park around Lake Hodges made a great spot for their family photography session. I love the way the light filters through the trees here and provides such warmth — just like the family I photographed here. Peggs, you’re awesome! Thank you for letting me capture this sweet time of your lives. x, K

Love, made visible. Goodness, I adore everything about this session – the vibrant colors + connection especially. What a pleasure it was to capture another sweet family in my hometown of Del Mar, and at a favorite local location – the Sunset Seat. What started as a mother’s desire to photograph the bond she has with her daughter, grew to – “well, let’s do a family session too!” Gosh, I love my job so much! PS: This stunning momma is wearing a skirt by Holi Chic by Meghanns. Super-Gupta family, thanks for bringing all the love to your photoshoot. I hope you are enjoying your images. xx, K
