This adorable family won an auction for my photography at the New Children’s Museum (one of our favorite family spots in San Diego). We strolled the streets of their hood in North Park and captured this joyful, and sometimes wild season, in parenting. (Upside down holds, the usual!). I loved my time with the Watkins Family. And I loved photographing North Park. It reminds me a little of Venice Beach, where I use to live. dynamic, electric, diverse, all kids of flavor.. dig it!
Sometimes it all just comes together… the light, cotton candy skies, the family connection. And lucky me! I got to photograph one of my favorite Seacoast church families. Their Del Mar beach session was a little slice of heaven on earth. Here’s what this beautiful mama had to say about her experience, “Kris is one of the most talented and professional photographers I have ever worked with. She takes the time to really get to know her clients and listens very carefully to their wants/needs, while also making sure to bring her expertise/knowledge/advice to the table. Our family absolutely loves working with her, and we could not happier with how our photos turned out. Kris has a true gift, such natural talent, and her lighting is magical! We look forward to many sessions with her in the future!!”
I closed out 2018 with this final photography session. It was so special to be there to see this love come full circle. A few years ago I captured Ryan + Tera’s engagement, wedding, and now this! A love like no other, as they become parents to Michael. Welcome to the world sweet boy! Man, you sure look a lot like your daddy. And you sure love your momma’s cuddles (particularly the chest “ledge” – so cute!). Scroll to see the images from this at-home newborn session. Such an honor to photograph this family!
“Surprise! A little girl.” They were so sure it would be another boy. But no, God had other plans. The Ashcraft brothers welcomed their precious baby sister, Aspen (coolest name!), right before Christmas. And what a gift it was. I was honored to photograph this dear, sweet family, as they became a party. of. FIVE!
Any many thanks to my friend, and fellow photographer, Cheryl Polk Photography, for helping with the styling!
