“For this child we have prayed!” 1 Samuel 1:27.
Our church family has a new mascot. Meet Archer. He is quite perfect in every way. And loved beyond comprehension.

This momma has had a long, trying road with miscarriages before laying her hands on her sweet boy. I know many of you have experienced, or are experiencing, the same gut-wrenching sadness. Just know that God loves you, and your child.

As you know by now, “Fresh 48” sessions are my favorite. Give me all the squishy babies you guys! If not, I will get sucked into watching birth videos on instagram for hours. Completely in tears. What. on. earth? Does the baby fever ever reallllly go away?

Here some images from Archer’s “Fresh 48” session. Talk about fresh feet. Fresh baby wrinkles. The cutest!

Meet the Newlyweds: Deanna + Brent. These two beautiful people celebrated their wedding on a warm, lovely San Diego afternoon at the Catamaran Resort. This wedding destination is a slice of paradise and reminds me so much of Hawaii.

It all started back in High School – they knew one another, but didn’t date at the time. After reconnecting in 2013, they were almost instantly inseparable – and great friends! When I asked them “what is most important to you about your wedding images?” I loved their response. “We would like our wedding photos to be a legacy that our children and their children will have to remember where and how we started. We are the beginning of that story.” Thanks for letting me capture one of the most important days in your story Deanna + Brent! Hope you are enjoying being married. The best is yet to come!

Sweet Autumn. Just 24 hours. What a JOY it was to capture the newness of her, and the start of this sweet family. Such a good, and perfect gift from above!

The “Fresh 48” sessions really get me. It’s a treasured time in life, when the most unbelievably, powerful feelings abound. You feel as if your heart might just explode. As a momma, I know the importance of remembering the newness of it all. And remembering the deep sense of love that you feel. It can get hazy sometimes as you power through the exhaustion. My job is to help you remember. Are you expecting? I would love to capture this time for you!

Thank you to this lovely, first-time momma, Katie, for making my day with her note of thanks. “Oh my gosh!!! THEY ARE AMAZING! I’m going to cry. Kris, this is such a huge blessing for us! THANK YOU! They are beautiful.”

Recently I felt a little “nudge” to further expand my photography business by giving my clients a new offering – what is coined a “Fresh 48” session. Essentially it is a one hour photoshoot that takes place in the morning at your delivering hospital or birth center, and within the first 48 hours after delivery.

Why is it important? These early moments when a baby first arrives, a family is “born” and our hearts expand. It’s like nothing else. The bond is strong. It is beautiful to witness. I personally look back on these very first pictures of us as a new family, and I feel so thankful that I have them to cherish. The moments are fleeting. And let’s face it, images help to trigger the memory of it all… especially during a time when we are just a tad bit sleep deprived.

Here’s a note from Lucia’s momma. This says it all. It’s why I do what I do, as a photographer.
“Kris!!! These are gorgeous!! I’m just in shock! After having to stay an extra day at the hospital, and just feeling drained and battling pain, you were able to capture these?! Amazing. These actually made me cry. Thank you so much, the best gift ever.I’ll look over them a million more times today and tell you my top 5. You are so talented, thank you for blessing us.”
