What a way to close out the year! The last day of 2017 was spent photographing this precious baby boy, Ezekiel. (Loooove this name!) His sweet parents have created a home filled with such warmth + peacefulness. It’s a funny thing – how you can notice this the instant you walk through the doors of someone’s home. And.. they were playing K-Love on the radio, so that was a bonus during this San Diego in-home newborn photography session.
Congrats to the Newlyweds! I couldn’t be more thrilled for these two sweet souls. They’ve been so patient in allowing their love to blossom over the years. Chad + Carissa met in junior high school and remained close friends throughout high school and college. After finishing undergrad, they were in the same church group and friend circle, and in their own words eventually, “found countless qualities to love and appreciate in one another”. I love the fact that just a few days after Thanksgiving, they became husband and wife. Much to be thankful for indeed!
Their wedding took place on the golf course at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. The were surrounded by 180+ friends and family. Immediately following a heartfelt ceremony, the sunset and light started to dim, as the fog rolled in thick. It actually felt like Fall in San Diego (imagine that!). That didn’t stop them from walking around the grounds with us to capture some romantic moments, including the happy-to-be-married dance (one of my favorite moments from their day). The bride looked so pretty, with make-up done by Alice at My Secret Salon. The Flower Shop designed the table arrangements for the reception, and the bride and her mother did the bridal bouquets. The Cravory provided a decadent dessert table. The reception dance floor was energized thanks to David Leeds. And a special thanks to Eder Photo for helping me with second shooting.
I hope you are loving every minute of being married, and enjoying some time together during your Hawaiian honeymoon. Aloha, and thanks for having me as your photographer Chad + Carissa!

Greg + Jessica met at an improve comedy class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In a roundabout way, she asked him out. She’s a girl who knows what she wants, and I love it! That was a very good call, because now they will share life together as husband and wife. Just a few days ago, they had the most incredible black tie wedding at the San Diego Museum of Art, in Balboa Park. Here are some early sneak peeks!
Cara North at Luxe Events helped to execute the perfect event. Mae Chan designed the lovely florals that adored the space with decor form Concept Event Design and Crown Rentals; and all the catering was done by Root Cellar Catering. The cake was hand-delivered from a bakery in Los Angeles called Elizabethan Desserts, and was topped with a special family heirloom.
Their heartfelt first look was one of my favorite parts of their wedding day, as Greg could hardly contain his emotions when he saw his beautiful bride, Jessica. (As you will see in the images.) Flora Ngai had the bride looking especially fabulous (her hair, wow!), and with a custom made dress by L’Ezu in Los Angeles – it’s no wonder why. My other favorite moment of their day: the mother/daughter dance, that turned into the DJ (Danny Aon) inviting all the mothers-and-daughters to join them on the dance floor. I had to hold back the tears! Such a sweet moment.
I am so grateful that you allowed me to capture your love story you two. Wishing you many blessings. Welcome to the married club!
(Credit to my friend, Eder Photo, for capturing this last shot. Just incredible!)
David + Monica are made for each other. One is a lawyer. One is in law school. They are grounded, smart, and confident. And together, they bring out a tenderness and sweetness in one another, and at times, a little spark of silliness. She smiles big. He can’t take his eyes off her.
Their wedding was at Orfila Vineyards & Winery, with breathtaking views and a lot of charm. The event manager at Orfila, Steffi Habermann, executed a flawless day. Simply Adina Floral designed the most beautiful burgundy and maroon-colored flowers – perfectly festive and Fall. And Kristen, at Bijou Beautiful, made the Bride and her best gals look stunning. VG Donuts & Bakery delivered quite the decadent dessert spread.
Their wedding was just yesterday, so here are some early sneak peeks. More images to come! (I’m currently editing 3 hours of reception dancing, thanks to Pat, of Sound Prodigy, who kept the dance floor hopping.)
Thank you to David + Monica for entrusting me to photograph your love story. So honored! And a special thanks to Eder (2nd shooter) for bringing your talent.
Chad + Carissa have been close friends since junior high school. Over the years, their relationship began to blossom and they began to see attractive qualities in one another. That led to more-and-more excuses to see each other, and eventually a sweet relationship (with intention to marry) began. Chad proposed in February of this year.
They love going to the beach and paddle boarding together, and thought it would be special to capture their engagement at Windansea Beach. I am so excited for their wedding in just a matter of a few months! They make me believe in love, and God’s hand in it all. Congrats you guys!
PS: I really enjoy receiving “love notes” from my client friends, and I want to share a recent note from Carissa. “Just wanted to say how thrilled we are with all of the engagement photos!! The quality and composition are breathtaking throughout. We couldn’t be more happy with them, so thank you again!”
