It was such a joy to see the Koff Family for their annual family photos!  They always have such good time together, which makes it fun for me too.  Can we talk about how stylish they are?  The sisters, with their cool boots, fur vest & pearls. And how about their momma with the hot red pants on! Love how it pops against the rustic background.  They were wanting a natural, outdoor look, so we went over to San Dieguito Park.  Some of the leaves had almost a pinkish hue – it was so pretty!  I especially love the images towards the end of this blog post for that reason.  For more information and to schedule your San Diego Family Photography Session, please email: photos@kriskurja.com – I would love to hear from you!

Meet sweet baby girl, Julia, and her rockstar new parents! Whew! I’m realizing that I have much to catch up on with blogging.  This San Diego Newborn & Family Lifestyle Photography session took place last Fall. Sweet baby Julia is probably off to college by now. lol!  This family was such a dream to work with. Their newborn session took place in the warmth and coziness of their home, where we captured authentic “first” moments between this new family. It is such a gift to be able to freeze time with images like this – when your little ones are teensy tiny.  As the next minute, you might blink, and they are quickly on to the next phase of development… rolling over, pulling up, crawling, walking… and then running away from the camera. wink! (My life right now with a toddler.) Here are a few images from our photography session together, and of special note: my thanks to the talented Helen Palma for capturing some of the more posed “dress up” images of baby Julia when I was out sick.

What a pleasure it was to meet a new family last month while offering photography “Mini Sessions” over the holidays – the Meeters!  A “mini” is a short-and-sweet photo session (lasting about 30 minutes), and it’s a great way to update your photos of your children in between a full family photography session.  Usually it is just the kiddos in the photoshoot, but in this case sweet Olivia and Cole were joined by their parents for a few shots too.  These two are so sweet and loving together.  I adore the black-and-white image on the stairs, where Cole is gently touching his sister’s face.  Such a sweet relationship!  Thanks Meeter Family!

Tony + Christa met in 8th grade and had a crush on one another from the start.  Many years would pass, and many life experiences, until finally in the Spring of 2013 they reconnected.  They have been inseparable ever since.  And now they are on their way to getting maaaaried! Yea!  They share a love of good wine, country music, dogs and sports.  In fact, Tony played baseball in the minor leagues.  Impressive!  Christa loves that Tony is such a hard worker and has a positive outlook on life.  She also thinks it’s pretty hysterical that he makes up his own lyrics to songs and doesn’t even realize he is singing it wrong.  Tony loves Christa’s gorgeous blue eyes and the fact that she adores his mom.  He also finds her slight bit of clumsy rather sexy.  Here are a handful of images from their engagement session at the Bernardo Winery.  I am so excited to photograph your wedding this year you two!
