Light of Love Photography l San Diego Lifestyle Photography by Kris Skurja Gabele » Light of Love Photography

Everything about Chris + Alisa’s San Diego engagement session was a dream.  From a romantic stroll through the trees, some puppy love, and a golden sunset at Torrey Pines beach – San Diego never disappoints.  And don’t even get me started on these two!  They are so sweet in love and their chemistry is such a joy to photograph.  When they first met and laid eyes on one another, they knew it was love at first sight.   Then, when they realized that they both have dogs named “Nellie,” that really sealed the deal. What are the odds, right?  I am so looking forward to their Coronado wedding next May, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorite images from our afternoon together.

Chad + Katherine met while serving through a High School ministry at Seacoast Community Church, where I attend and was fortunate enough to meet them.  They have such a heart for the Lord, and for one another.  Katherine loves Chad’s loyalty, his sense of humor and his bright, blue eyes.  And Chad is simply smitten with his bride!  She has a tender heart, compassion and a kind spirit that people are drawn to – myself included.  They love the simple things.. like, for instance, anything that might involve a picnic blanket and being able to just rest, talk and spend quality time together.  That’s what life is all about, right?

This San Diego wedding took place in Encinitas.  Chad + Katherine were married at Seacoast, where they had a nice reception to follow the ceremony.  Then we captured some intimate portraits of the married couple at San Dieguito Park on the way to a private dinner, where they continued to celebrate in more of an intimate setting with close friends and family.  Here are just a handful of images from their special day.  I love all the DIY details, the use of the color mint (my fav for summer),  the lovely flowers by Mae Chan Florals and the crazy-good dessert spread by Sara Rosenbaum.  And, of course, this adorable couple! Blessings to you both!

When I think of my new brand name, “Light of Love Photography,” this sweet couple epitomizes its meaning. Not only do Chris + Danielle have a light in their eyes and their hearts for one another, they have an authentic love for Jesus. It’s inspiring to witness, and I am excited to see where their journey takes them, now married and stronger together.  They are very much the academic type and they share a love of books, traveling together and enjoying conversation over a cup of tea/coffee. They just graduated with masters from the University of Oxford, in England, and now they are on their way to earning PhDs.  Let’s just say that Chris admired his gorgeous goldilocks bride from afar for awhile, making many trips to the library, where Danielle was working and studying, until finally he mustered up enough courage to ask her out on a date.  The rest is history, as it was an instant, soul connection.  Their interests of books, travel, etc. were all highlighted in the decor of their wedding. Their goal was to make everyone feel comfortable and at home, so they opted for a laid-back approach where all of the decorations were DIY. Colors were blue & mint (my favorites), with pretty lavender flowers, hydrangea and roses. Chris + Danielle had a lovely ceremony at Green Valley Church, and their reception was at a private residence in San Diego.  It was a perfect summer wedding and such a celebration of true love.

Doug - It was a magical wedding! And one of the best parts was you! What a fabulous photographer! We will treasure these pictures all our lives!ReplyCancel

Carolyn + Jason married at one of the coolest spots in town, The Thursday Club in San Diego, where beautifully groomed gardens nestle around Spanish architecture and an ocean view.   This wedding was a true celebration, as two families united together as one.  The kiddos all adore each other – so much so, they have started their own band.  As you’ll see in some of the images, they stole the show during the reception.

This wedding was filled with many DIY details. One of my favorites being the special touch of the “family tree” where all their guests left a finger print “mark” as a sign of their support and love. I also loved the pretty cream and blush flowers, with the taupe lines – it made for a beautifully done reception.

Here are some of the wedding images. Carolyn + Jason: wishing you a lifetime of love!
