For the past three years, I have had the privilege of photographing the Chan Family for their Christmas cards, or the “Chan Clan” as I fondly refer to them. It’s always such a joy to be with them. They kids (can I still call them that in high school?) are so loving to one another, and a dream to photograph. This year we had a little *incident* that could have caused us to postpone the photoshoot. We were reprimanded by an intense ranger and asked to leave Torrey Pines Beach because we brought their adorable dog “Gina” (it’s off season!). The sun was 15 minutes away from setting, and rather than panic, the family handled the situation with such grace. It was a true testament to their awesome character. We rushed across town to Del Mar Beach, which is a tab more dog friendly, and just in time for a pretty winter sunset. It really turned out better than we expected, thankfully!
